Skreda Rest Area nominated to the Mies van der Rohe Award 2019
We are very happy to hear that the Skreda Rest Area is nominated to this prestigious prize and grateful to those who nominated the project. This is the third manthey kula project to be nominated to the MvdR Award.

Moving the office
After 8 years in Pilestredet 75C we move the office to Rosenborggata 19B; same block, but different yard. It is a bit sad to leave the characteristic tunnel shaped space and the brick utility tower we built with C.P. and C.E. in 2010.

Studio visit

Visit to the construction site for the Skreda Rest Area, the furniture is ready to be mounted on the platform.
Site visit to Hårr
First visit to the site for a new viewpoint for the National Scenic Routes. The site borders to the Atlantic ocean and the wide landscape is covered with stones brought here by the glacier, some from the eastern part of the country. What a place!
First visit to Utøya
The team selected to develop the sketch project for the National Memorial at Utøyakaia: manthey kula and Bureau Bas Smets with Mattias Ekman as advisor on memorial theory.
First prize with LCLA

New site in Bohuslän

Looking Through Portals
Opening of a small exhibition by manthey kula at the Museum of Cultural History. It tells the story of how stave church portals have been objects of interest for centuries.
Exhibition opening
Opening of the exhibition Det Felles Eide at Kunstnernes Hus designed by manthey kula. The exhibition shows public art acquired by the municipality of Oslo. It discusses the relation between art, architecture, urban space and the community.
Opening: With Eyes Closed - Gauguin and Munch
It has been very interesting to work with this light sensitive exhibition at the Munch Museum; from graphic work and display cases to benches and exhibition spaces.

Archipelago - Building from Solitude
The project Archipelago - Building from Solitude, a commission for the FRAC Centre - Val de Loire, will be shown at the first FRAC Biennale which opens today. The five projects are developed from known information about five individuals that have experienced profound isolation across the globe and across history.
